Celebrate National Cheeseburger Day the healthy way with this delicious cheeseburger salad. It’s tasty, veggie-filled, and comes with a delicious dressing. It’s like In-N-Out, but healthier. Sound good? We think so too.

This recipe is great on its own, but it’s also totally customizable – feel free to add your own seasonings into the mix, or even substitute the meat with an alternative like ground turkey or something vegetarian friendly!

You can also add different toppings like mushrooms, eggs, or chilis, depending on what flavor you’re going for. This salad is amazing enough alone, but you can always add baked sweet potato wedges on the side if you want your meal to be a bit more filling!

Cheeseburger Salad

This salad has all the good parts of your favorite cheeseburger, without all the grease and fat.

  • 1/4 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cup romaine lettuce
  • 1/8 yellow onion
  • 1/2 roma tomatoes
  • 1 dill pickle spears
  • 11/2 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/16 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/8 teaspoon worcestershire sauce


  1. Cook: ground beef in large skillet over medium-high heat for 5-8 minutes or until browned and fully cooked. Turn stove off.
  2. Carefully drain: fat from pan into a disposable container.
  3. Add: 2 tablespoons of mustard, 1/4 cup of ketchup, and 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce to pan and mix with beef.
  4. Make dressing: mix 1 tablespoon mustard, 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, 1/2 tablespoon water, and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder in a small bowl.
  5. Chop: romaine lettuce, onion, tomatoes, and pickles.
  6. Assemble salad: add lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, cheese, beef, and dressing to a bowl and chow down. Keep beef and dressing in separate containers from the salad for leftovers that don’t get soggy.
