Greek yogurt is a great way to add some extra protein and lighten up your classic tuna salad! It does have a slightly different taste and texture than tuna salad with mayo but it’s still delicious.

Greek yogurt does add a little bit more tang than mayo does so you definitely need sweet relish to balance it out. You could also add some chopped apples or dried cranberries as well to provide more sweetness for balance. Sunflower seeds are another great idea to add some crunch if you’re adding the tuna salad on a bed of lettuce or salad. This lightened up and protein packed tuna salad is an easy meal to throw together!

  • 16 ounce canned tuna
  • 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt unsweetened
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dill
  • 1/4 cup relish
  • 2 tablespoon parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup red onion
  • 2 celery stalks


  1. Finely dice: the celery and red onion.

  2. Mix: all ingredients in a bowl.

  3. Serve: in lettuce wraps, in a salad, or on cucumber slices for some alternatives to the classic tuna salad sandwich with bread.
